Meet the Artist
Hello and welcome, I'm Laura!
My creative practice explores the complex entanglements of healing, being, and existing on one’s own terms. My artwork seeks to ‘practise life into being’, to foster connection, and to offer the hopeful horizons we sometimes lack in ourselves or the wider world.
My artwork has been shown in 40+ exhibitions around the world since 2005. Pieces are held in private collections and museums, and are regularly featured on the covers of magazines and journals. I also enjoy teaching on several MA courses at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design as well as on the MASc Creative Health at UCL and the MSc Creative Arts and Mental Health at Queen Mary University of London.
I studied arts at Central Saint Martins (BA with First Class Honours), creative arts and mental health at Queen Mary University of London (MSc with Distinction), and I am currently completing a PhD at King’s College London.
But art was part of my life long before that: it's the language I spoke first, it's how I explored and made sense of the world, how I healed from difficult experiences, and how I claim joy in everyday life.
I created this little shop to share this joy - because being surrounded by art is a truly special thing, especially in the sacred spaces we call home. But I know that not everyone can afford original artwork so, for the first time ever, I am making canvas prints available too.
I hope that my paintings bring you joy and a sense of belonging.
